The Population Studies Center (PSC) at the University of Pennsylvania has fostered research and training in population since it's founding in 1962. The PSC has received support from a number of federal and private research funding programs and mechanisms since its inception, with a large portion of support from the NICHD and NIA Population Research Infrastructure Programs, respectively since 1978 and 1999. Jere R. Behrman, William R. Kenan Jr. Professor of Economics is the current PSC Director. The PSC's central scientific objectives are to foster research and training on population composition and processes in conjunction with the Graduate Group in Demography (GGD).
